The Alpine Type-R SWR-8D4 is an 8-inch dual 4-ohm voice coil subwoofer designed to deliver powerful and accurate bass for car audio systems. This subwoofer is built for extreme performance and endurance, incorporating a groundbreaking design and innovative patents to achieve unrivaled SPL output and robust low-end bass response in a compact package.

It features a Kevlar® reinforced pulp cone, the same material used in bulletproof vests, combined with a durable High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) Santoprene™ surround. This patented HAMR design allows for large linear excursion and greater SPL without sacrificing valuable cone area, ensuring accurate, distortion-free control even at extreme volumes.

The SWR-8D4 can handle up to 350 watts RMS (175 watts per coil) and 1000 watts peak power. Its dual oversized 4-ohm voice coils offer wiring flexibility, allowing for a 2-ohm or 8-ohm load, making it compatible with a wide range of amplifiers. An advanced airflow management system cools the voice coils for maximum output during extended playing time. It works well in both sealed and ported enclosures.
